Why should I buy art from you?

This is our favourite question, one we always love to answer! There are many reasons why you should buy your art from Dumspyrospero.

The reason that always stands out is the premium quality in terms of visual appearance and also of materials used. We didn't cut any corners, the artist has spent a tremendous amount of time creating visually aesthetic art that can fit every space. All the artworks we sell are of premium museum quality which means they follow the industry's best printing and framing standards (giclée printing, 200gsm posters, frames made from real wood, professionally sealed frames to protect from moisture) and they are designed to last for a long time.

By buying your art from us you are supporting an independent artist and you are consuming something that is original and made with passion instead of buying something that is mass consumed. That makes the art you posses even more special and unique.

We started our business with the environment in mind and for this reason we decided to partner with a professional workshop that produces our art with sustainability as a core value. Please see our About page for more details on the eco credentials and the practices used.

Last but not least we take action in giving back and 5% of our profits each year will be going to environmental charities. Buy buying art from us you practically donate part of the price you pay to those charities as well.

Are you going to personally sign each artwork?

We have decided to only include our brand's name (dumspyrospero) as a watermark signature on the bottom corner of each art instead of personally signing every piece of art.

Why? Simply because this is a more sustainable option and a better choice for the environment. Having the artist sign each artwork would require the products to be shipped to its location, have the artist sign each one of them and then re-ship them to the final customer. That would eventually double our carbon fooprint (in terms of transportation effort, materials used such as packaging, printing labels, tape etc) which is unacceptable in the times we live in.

Bonus: The framed art is professionally sealed in the back during production time, and we thought it is better to leave it to the professionals!

Are your artworks on a limited edition?

We offer open edition artworks that are available to all customers with no limitations on their copies. We wanna make our art accessible and available to everyone. All artworks showcase places and moments from real life and our goal is to spread the beauty of our world on every home and wall.

Product

How are the products made?

We do not hold inventories. All products are made specifically for you once you place your order which help us reduce our carbon footprint. Both the wooden frames and the posters are made from wood and paper that is sourced from sustainable forests. The packaging is mostly consisted from recyclable paper or cardboard while offering innovative ways to protect the products with no use of bubble wrap. This way the use of plastics is reduced as much as possible.

What is the difference between the framed art and the posters?

You can see the framed art as the full package. You get a fine art print that has been framed with a high quality wooden frame and includes glaze and a white mount (passepartout). In few words you receive a final product that has been prepared by professionals and is ready to use.

The posters on other hand are basically a fine art paper with the print of your choice and that's it. You will have to frame the posters yourself which requires more time and effort from your side. We highly recommend framing all our posters as soon as you receive them in order to protect their longetivity and quality.

Both the framed art and the posters use the same type of museum quality fine art paper weighting 200gsm.

How should I unpack the products?

Framed Art

  • Open the package carefully to avoid damaging the frame
  • Take out the frame slowly and remove the protective cardboard from the frame's cornerns
  • We recommend handling the product from its wooden frame
  • Avoid touching the glaze for not leaving fingerprints
  • Remove dust by using a damp cloth

Posters

  • Please unwrap the posters slowly and carefully to avoid leaving stains and incurring marks that can become permanent
  • We highly recommend using cotton gloves (not plastic ones) when handling the posters
  • In case you dont have cotton gloves try using a piece of dry tissue or handling the posters from their edges
  • The posters are delivered wrapped so they may be slight curved when unpacked
  • In order to flatten a poster we recommend putting it on a flat and dry surface and placing some sturdy items (ex: books) on top of it for at least 24 hours
  • Make sure the protective paper that comes with the package covers the printed side of the poster before placing any items
  • Do NOT place items directly on the printed surface of the poster!

I am not really sure which product and/or size to choose, what can I do?

If you are having hard time to choise the right product for your space or you are looking for reccommendations on which color/size to order feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to help you out.

What if the product I received differs from the pictures I see online?

There might be small color differences between the pictures you see online and the final products and that usually happens due to the color calibration of the monitor/display/device you use when viewing our website. Nevertheless these differences shouldn't be big enough to change the representation of the product.

There might be some visible differences on the wood pattern of the natural frame. The frame is made from real wood and usually the wood grain varies from product to product. Since the natural frame is not painted with a color to cover the wood texture it's final representation may vary from the pictures you see in our store. Shipping

What are the shipping costs?

Shipping is for FREE for all orders, no matter how big or small. Simple as that!

Where will my order ship from?

Your order will ship from a fulfillment center closest to your location. For the EU countries all products are prepared and shipped from the Netherlands. All fulfilment centers follow the same quality standards.

In which countries do you ship to?

At the moment we only ship to the EU countries which are the following: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden

How long will delivery take?

Total estimated time for receiving your product from the time you place you order (including production & shipping) is between 4 – 15 days for the EU countries. That is an indication for your information only and the final times may different depending on your location and the workload.

How will my order be delivered?

Your order will be delivered with one of the shipping companies our vendor has partnered with. The shipping company that will be chosen on each occassion depends on the ordered products and the destination. To give you and indication the most common shipping companies used for our orders are DHL and DPD but that is not an exhaustive list.

Can I track my order?

Yes, once production is finished for your order and your item is ready for shipping you will receive a tracking code.

Will I have to pay customs on my order?

There shouldn't be any custom fees for orders produced and delivered within the EU countries.

Returns

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel the order and receive a refund as long as your product has not entered production. Please contact us asap in case you want to cancel your order. No cancellations and refunds are possible once production has started for your ordered items.

My product arrived damaged, now what?

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can evaluate the issue and and work with you to resolve it.

We have to note that we are not responsible for damages that have been incurred while unpacking the products (such as but not limited to stains, marks, permanent fingerprints, cracks etc) or from the use of the items after they have been received and thus we won't accept returns for those cases.

What is your return policy? What if I order one of your products and I change my mind?

We don’t hold inventories and the products you see here are produced specifically for you (you decide your own print, size and color) after you place your order. Custom made products as such are not subject to returns and refunds. For this reason we won't accept any returns or process any refunds in case you have changed your mind for the ordered items.
